Did you fish over the weekend?

Hi there,

So did you went fishing over the past weekend?
Personally my fishing was pretty short lived, in big parts due to bad tides timing, and for not wearing my rock hopper boots when I should have worn them...

I started to walk along one of my favourite rock ledge wearing my plastic clog, while the proper footwear for this kind of place were in the backpack that was just on my back...
Silly no?
I was just thinking that I would put them on, once at the end of the ledge.

So I slipped on some wet rock and loose my right shoe and trying not to fall I put my naked foot forward... That is just where was waiting for the tip of my toes, a rock full of sharp oysters...
A burning sensation was immediately felt, and blood stained the rock around my foot.
And that was it, most of my weekend plans had to be reworked.

cut and bruised toes.

I think that I will now remember to wear them at all time on the rocks.
After all that is what I bought them for.

So limping, painful toes and no fish for the week.

But hey, it could be worse.
Have a good day,
Me.

Cyclone Carlos day 2.

Hi there,

An update on tropical cyclone Carlos.
Things seems to get better, and hopefully Carlos won't come back.
In fact I even believe that he has already been downgraded to Ex-Cyclone by the BOM, and Darwin airport is reopen.

Still we had a lot of wind in Darwin last night, and here are a few photos first two from our back yard, then from the same park as yesterday, just to show you what the local playground looks like now.

Fallen pawpaw tree.

Bananas on the clothesline.

The playground.

The swings.

Broken down.

Remember the big tree from yesterday?

Last night the trees were falling in the opposite direction than on the previous day.

So even if so far our home has not suffered any damage, unlike around 30 home that got flooded along Rapid Creek (a suburb of Darwin) every things is wet or damp at the best, and every body start to show some signs of cabin fever...

But hey, it could be worse.
Have a good day,
Me.

Hard life...

Hi there,

So last Saturday I went fishing for a few hours in the morning.
Has you may have already read in a previous post, I did reel in a pretty nice fish on light gears...
Or at least, what could be seen as light gears down here: 15 lbs line, which I know in some place is heavy gears.

As if needed be, just one more proof of the relativity of things...

So I went fishing and I came back with a big blister on my thumb!
just from reeling in the fishes.
You want to see a proof of it, to be sure that I am not pulling your leg?
Ok here it is:

Blister on my thumb, from fishing...

So I am not asking you to cry me a river, no, but a bit of sympathy would go a long way.
Because you know what Ms Frugal said to me when I showed the terrible wound to her?
She said:
"If you get blisters just by going fishing, your life must not be that hard then"...
That is how much care she showed to to my pain and injury...
Ha this is a hard life...

But hey, it could be worse.
Have a good day,
Me.
