I'm back!

I'm back!
Doesn't this sound like a James Brown song?
Any way, yes I am back in the land of Oz, and it feels good.
(Is this another James Brown song? It Feels Good)
Ok yes you may have understood by now that I cam back from my little escapade overseas with some of my old CDs from when I was a kid...

And while I was away I learned some more information on the Coca Cola lure from a previous post.
Well, it would rather be more exact to say that my email received the news and it was also shared on the FFF forum, and that it is upon my return that I read and learnt all these things...
So here it is for the ones interested in the topic of fishing lures.

The boss from Reidy's Lures, the company that made this very lure, wrote that he believe that the Coke promo was only for the Northern Territory of Australia, and that 5000 lures only were produced. There were 13 printing plates mades and it would take 10 printing runs which would have been an absolute nightmare and very time consuming.

He also said that even him as the boss of the company did not get one of them.
So I offered to give him the lure if he wanted it for the Reidy's archive, and lucky me he declined the offer saying that he might get one from another source, so I can keep it.

And to think that I spend some of my holidays thinking that I may have to give away this little lure...

I also have to confess that during this little trip I visited more fishing tackle shops than museums...
But to save me, the time spent in the museums was longer than the one in the tackle shops...
Maybe because you can't buy what's in the museums, so no risk of spending it all while in there, as opposed to the fishing shops...

But hey, it could be worse.
Have a good day,
Me.

P.S: And here are two little photos of a must to visit shop in Paris called: Des Poissons Si Grands, where I did a bit of shopping. Buying mostly some Mepps lures as I used to fish with them as a kid and can't find them in Darwin. I wonder how they will work up here...

More lure than I could ever use.

Ha, Paris...

Welcome back, Rambling Expat!

I'm looking forward to hearing more about your museum visits. Okay, and your fishing stories too...

Cheers,
Ms. Dig.
